More than 350 attended the DuBose Lectures by Dr. Fred B. Craddock, Bandy Distinguished Professor of Preaching and New Testament Emeritus, Candler School of Theology, Emory University, on October 30-31, 2008 at The University of the South, Sewanee, TN. Bracketing the lectures were a pair of workshops sponsored by the Episcopal Preaching Foundation presented by Dr. William Brosend, Associate Professor of Homiletics, and Dr. Craddock. The Episcopal Preaching Foundation also announced a pilot program to bring the “Preaching Excellence Program” to priests in the field at the diocesan level. Click here to learn more.
The Rev. Dr. William Hethcock, Professor of Homiletics emeritus at the University of the South contacted all eleven Episcopal serminaries and asked, "How are you teaching preaching? How many teachers do you have? How often do your students preach?" and other questions. Read his entire report, "Looking Again at Teaching Homiletics".

PEP (the Preaching Excellence Program) has always been for Episcopal seminarians, but now it can be for you, too. You will prepare and deliver two sermons in a preaching group of peers and attend lectures by outstanding preachers and teachers of preaching on the campus of Villanova University. We begin Sunday evening and conclude Friday morning. Cost is $750 and includes room, board and the program.
Each week a friend of the EPF provides sermon ideas and resources pertaining to the Revised Common Lectionary.

Worship, listen to lectures, get resources, but most of all preach in a small group and get professional and peer constructive feedback. This year there will be a preaching group in Spanish. Cost is $750 for the week and includes room, board, and the complete program. Register online for PEP '09.
