The Epsicopal Preaching Foundation exists to promote and support preaching in the Episcopal Church.
To accomplish this mission, the Foundation sponsors a yearly conference with a distinguished faculty
to train seminarians in the art of preaching. In addition, the Foundation offers seminars for clergy
in the field and promotes excellent preaching in parish churches by seeking and publishing a
volume of exceptional sermons each year.

Incorporated first as the Episcopal Evangelism Foundation, the name of our organization was
changed to reflect the importance of preaching as a primary and crucial means of spreading the
Good News of God in Christ.

Our work began in 1981 in response to a challenge from the then Presiding Bishop, The Most Reverend John M. Allin,
who voiced the need for supplementary education for seminarians in the area of parish-based evangelism. Our work
continues through the support of those who share our vision.
